3.1 Comments

Input to T4 can also contain comments. Comments in T4 are normally delimited by the characters `%' and newline.

Comments on the first line have special meaning. It can contain Emacs-style cookies. If you want the input to be decoded with particular encoding, you can write:

-*- coding: iso-2022-jp -*-

which indicate the file is written in iso-2022-jp encoding.
