3.1 Requirements

This section lists requirements when building Emacsy from source. The build procedure for Emacsy is the same as for GNU software, and is not covered here. Please see the files README and INSTALL in the Emacsy source tree for additional details.

Emacsy depends on the following packages:

• GNU Guile, version 2.2.4 is known to work.
• Guile-Lib, version 0.2.1.6 is known to work.
• GNU Make.

The following dependencies are optional:

• Autoconf, Automake, Libtool, and pkg-config to build from git.
• Installing Texinfo, will allow you to build the documentation.
• Installing FreeGLUT, will allow you to build the Hello Emacsy example.
• Installing WebKitGTK, will allow you to build the bare bones Emacsy Web browser examples.
